Email2SMS and transactional email integration

Start SMS notifications from an email trigger when the existing system can integrate fastest through SMTP.

Overview

  • Dedicated SMTP endpoint
  • TLS/SSL support
  • SMTP authentication
  • Mandatory IP whitelist
  • Subject-based SMS text

What is this solution?

Email2SMS allows a customer system to trigger SMS notifications by sending email. The email acts only as a trigger: SMS sending and status handling are performed inside the BitMessaging platform.

How it fits into the platform

The system sends email through SMTP to a dedicated endpoint with IP whitelist and SMTP authentication. The recipient format is 3630XXXXXXXX@bitmessaging.com, the Subject contains the SMS text, and the Body is ignored.

What problem does it solve?

Some legacy or closed business systems can send email more easily than direct API calls. Email2SMS provides a fast integration path while keeping delivery status visible through the BitMessaging platform.

Operational value

One communication layer instead of separate tools

The solution connects business events, routing, fallback and reporting into one workflow, so customer communication becomes easier to operate and audit.

How does it work?

1

Event

Your business system creates an event with the recipient, message text and the required context.

2

Routing

BitMessaging receives the request, validates access and selects the configured channel or sending method.

3

Fallback

If needed, the workflow can switch to another channel and continue with retry or fallback rules.

4

Report

Message ID, delivery status, callback data and reports close the workflow for your team.
